GetGround FAQs: what you need to know

Property isn’t just the world’s largest asset class – it’s also one of the most resilient. This makes it a particularly attractive investment in times of financial uncertainty.

Is the buy-to-let property market a good investment?

Property isn’t just the world’s largest asset class (valued at over $326tn) – it’s also one of the most resilient. Just 18 months after the 2008 financial crash, for example, UK buy-to-let had actually grown by 5%. This makes it a particularly attractive investment in times of financial uncertainty.

It also offers instant ROI in the form of rental income, as well as long-term capital appreciation. So investors stand to benefit in both the short- and long-term with UK buy-to-let.

How can GetGround help me set up a limited company?

At GetGround, we’ll guide you through the process of designing a perfect limited company in just half an hour. That includes:

  • The correct SIC code
  • A business account, for all your payments
  • A registered office address

We’ll also handle the legal documentation, all built specifically for buy-to-let investment. This way, you can be confident your investment is totally protected.

Got questions? We’ll be on hand to answer them the whole time – by phone, email, or even in person.

How long does it take, and how much does it cost?

Designing your limited company only takes about half an hour. And, provided your quick identity check goes smoothly, we’ll aim to incorporate your company within two days.

Setting up a company with GetGround costs £50 + VAT for UK residents (£579 + VAT for non-UK residents), and £29 + VAT per month for ongoing accounting and company management.

What’s the difference between standalone and holding company structures?

A standalone structure means owning shares in a company (an SPV) that owns a property. This is a simple setup for investors planning to buy one or two properties. Most GG landlords take this approach.

But a HoldCo setup means owning shares in a company that owns other companies. This structure lets you tax-efficiently reinvest profits from your SPVs, as all that profit stays within the group. For this reason, HoldCos are usually best for investors targeting large portfolios.

What day-to-day services can GetGround provide?

For just £29 per month (plus VAT), GetGround:

  • Prepares and files your end-of-year tax returns
  • Provides a virtual business address
  • Sets up & supports your business account
  • Files your documents

And more besides. For smooth, laid-back landlording.

Can I choose my own company name? Can I pay employees through PAYE?

Every GetGround company follows the same naming format, e.g. GG-123-123 LTD. Because we’ve agreed this format with Companies House, we can cut out the red tape involved with unique names, and incorporate your company much faster – often in under two days. For that reason, we don’t allow investors to choose their own company names.

All GetGround companies are set up for the sole purpose of owning property. This means they aren’t trading companies, and can’t employ people. For that reason, we don’t support PAYE payments.

What else can GetGround do?

GetGround means more than a perfect limited company. With GG Search, we’re making it easy for every investor to find that next high-yield UK property investment:

  • Browse thousands of high-yield UK properties
  • See all the data, instantly – from capital growth to projected returns
  • Access detailed guides on the UK’s hottest investment areas
  • Meet with your own expert GG Search consultant, any time

With GG Search, you’re in expert hands. And, with data you won’t find anywhere else, you can make an informed, unbiased investment decision.

What’s the story behind GetGround?

Two brothers, Moubin Faizullah Khan and Misrab Faizullah Khan, founded GetGround to bring the world’s largest asset class online: property.

Property is a $326bn asset class. But it’s also a byword for a slow, stressful experience – one where everyone has their own horror story. With GetGround, we’ve set out to turn horror stories into happy ones, by streamlining the whole investment process:

  • Shortening the search for high-yield properties
  • Putting the whole purchase process under one roof
  • Making it easy to set up and manage a tax-efficient limited company

Because buy-to-let shouldn’t test your will to live.
